Gotcha' Judd.
This is the most beautiful piece of Honduras rosewood I've got.
I'm an ink freak, and I don't have a single tatoo.

It's just a 4/4 x 5" board. Good for pretty headstock plates.

Please don't be offended by this. It's in no way my intent to be contentious.

But in my opinion there should be a more accurate description than "wood porn" for something as beautiful as strongly figured wood.

IMO, porn and the people who produce it are in a dirty business and not really comparable to the natural beauty of highly figured woods.

I suggest KO Wood/Knockout wood or perhaps Knockdown Gorgeous Wood might be more accurate and appropriate.

IMO Joel

By The Way- The wood shown is a "Knockdown Gorgeous" set of quilted Sapele.

Joel, maybe porn was too seedy a word to describe God's creations, but you'd have to admit the gawking, sense of awe and wonder, and even some feelings of coveting and wanting border on the wood version of pornography. This is wood in it's naked state! But maybe I should have put the word in quotes.

Very nice! Where did you get the Pernambuco?

I've got a shipment of fretboards coming in from Spain, should land tomorrow. In the meantime, some 'oldie but goodie' from my stash pile:
Bit of traditional quilt maple:

My 'Darth Vader' (or possibly 'Stealth Ninja' or 'Praying Monk', depending on how you look at it) quilt sapele that's been waiting for me to summon the courage to build something with it. May double-side the sides, as it has the tap tone of cardboard. But it is pretty.

Mattia, One of the best sounding guitars I've ever heard is made from quilt sapele. In spite of the cardboard-like tap tone, when epoxy is used for sealing this stuff under a finish, it actually becomes decent.

Arnt....nice stuff! The Pernambuco is nicer than a lot I've seen from certain other builders.
