Crystal LacBrite Tone

Post by Bob Gleason »

After nearly 50 years of spraying nitro, I am trying to see if I can switch to waterborne. This is my second attempt. I tried a year ago with EM6000 and gave up.Maybe not the fault of the product, but more my lack of patience. Nitro is so easy and forgiving. The health hazards of nitro are one thing, but at 78 I'm old enough to have ingested so much nitro that a a little more probably does not matter. The reason for switching is more the increasing diminished availability of nitro here in Hawaii. Waterborne is really a different animal. I have to forget, or relearn, much of what I know about spraying. Are there any Brite Tone users here that are successfully getting a high quality guitar finish with Brite Tone? I am aware, and do follow, the Crystal Lac users group on FB, but always looking for other users to compare notes with. Thanks, Bob

I have used Brite Tone a number of times, and got great results. I pretty much followed the process layed out by Highline Guitars on his YouTube channel. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iFtsXkHCbgM&t=2536s

Christ, I have looked at that Highline video, but it was when I first started with the bRite Tone. I should revisit to. Thanks for the reminder. BTW, if have not seen it, the Crystal Lac site on FB is pretty active and has lots of users answers/suggestions. Bob
