Fender Palomino Bridge Plate Replacement

Post by Dave Gentner »

Has any body ever worked on a Fender Palomino acoustic? A customer just brought me one and half the bridge plate is gone. Is it possible to remove the steel rod that runs through the center of the body, or am I going to have to work around it?

Google Patent 3302507, and go to the "drawings" tab - might give you a bit of additional insight into what you're dealing with, especially figures 5 and 5a. Looks like an interesting gizmo, if you get a chance please post how it goes...

Thanks JC, that's pretty cool. No way to get it out, so I worked around it. It was a bit tight, but I managed to replace the bridgeplate.
