A pineapple uke with a concert scale neck on a soprano size body. Top and back are sugar maple, sides are cherry, both local wood. The neck is cedro with granadillo fingerboard. I use spanish heel construction. Strings go through the bridge and are knotted on the inside. I tried a zero fret on this one.

Don't have the slightest clue why, I really like that body shape. It's very cool looking. Never knew it was called "Pineapple". The wood is gorgeous. Cedro is a type of Cedar (duh on me). My 12 String is Cherry and Cedar and I love it. That is one very cool looking Uke. How's it sound?

Thanks Claude! The shape is my rendering of the pineapple uke shape first introduced by Kamaka early last century. I drew the lines with curves that were pleasing to my eye; less boxy or squared-shouldered than some other contemporary pineapple ukes.

I have always liked the ray flecked appearance in wood. This maple was cut from my yard and looks great when cut on the quarter.

How's it sound? Like a ukulele, haha. Seriously though, I think it sounds good. It's not the loudest uke I've made, but has a nice mellow tone.
