Pictures in signature?

Are pictures allowed in signatures? If not no problem. I'm just curious, because in the settings it says the img code is active, suggesting yes, but when I try, it fails with the message 'It was not possible to determine the dimensions of the image.'
I specialise in historical & world instruments.
