Old Violin Cases
Concerning those older style cases that you see every once in a while that look like they were made from paper machete (sp?) They look like the nose of an alligator and are generally not very refined. What is the construction technique and does any know of a tutorial?

Re: Old Violin Cases
Hi Mark,
I have had a few of those over the years (if we are thinking of the same type). The sides are rounded and rolled up from the bottom and top halves. To me they look like they were pressed in a mold. I would think you could mold them similar to molding fiberglass, and fiberglass might be an alternative material to use.
