Hello, new guy here.

I've been lurking here for about a week and thought I'd make my presence known. I am a new builder of musical things. I was lured into the craft by videos of kalimbas on Youtube, and I've built one already that I'm not entirely pleased with. I'm also working on a design for a silly stringed instrument as a way to learn what goes into the design process of more conventional instruments. My ultimate goal is to gather the skills and tools to build an octobass, because I think that instrument is hilarious.
