Quarter-sawn Cocobolo

Post by Charlie Schultz »

Donated by JC Whitney (thanks JC!)

JC says:
Dimensions are 7/8" x 35 1/4" x 6 5/8", right about 1.43 bf. It was purchased from a hardwood supplier in New Hampshire back in the mid to late 1990s and has been stickered in a stack indoors ever since.
JC has posted some photos here: : https://www.dropbox.com/sh/tzubc292x8zp ... TJA_a?dl=0

You can probably get at least couple fretboards and some bridge blanks out of this.

Let's start the bidding at $50. Due to CITES, we have to limit this to USA bidders only (and JC will cover shipping for the continental US).

I'll bid $50. It looks like it could have several lutherie uses.

Great looking piece of wood. You don't often find a piece of rosewood that well quartered these days. Thanks, JC!
