If you're in the Portland area, come on down to the Oregon Guitar Expo today. It's mainly a vintage and collector show, but I'll have a table with a few of my guitars and pickup winder on display.

How did your expo go? Successful or not?
I need your help. I can't possibly make all the mistakes myself!

Thanks for checking in, Gordon. This was a good show for me, and just what I needed. Lots of good conversations with show-goers, spreading the multi-scale gospel, and I may have a commission on the way and a followup sale.
This is a fairly new show that happens twice a year in the Portland metro area, on the east side in the fall and the west side in the spring. The event organizer bills it mainly as a vintage show, mostly electrics, even advertising in Vintage Guitar Magazine, but he tells me that he'd like to expand the lineup of exhibitors to include more luthiers. Aside from guitars, there were two amp builders and two pedal builders, so you could shop for your whole signal chain!
I'll be grabbing a table again in May, just after the Portland Handmade Musical Instrument Exhibit at the end of April, giving me three shows per year to choose from.

Nice! Did you have a few guitars to take and put on display?
You said multi-scale gospel. Are you strictly a bass builder?
Hopefully the prospective buyers will come through for you.

Yes, I brought three guitars: two 6-strings and a 7. Commission (if it happens) would be for a 7-er, and the sale (sigh, if it happens) is a completed 6. I built a bass, and will build more, but I'm focusing on guitars - 6-, 7-, and 8-string - all with multi-scale arrangements.
