I would like to know if anyone could tell me anything about Okie Adams and the banjos he made. My uncle, who makes banjos, has given me one which he said was the 2nd banjo Okie made after he went out on his own. I would like to be able to verify this somehow and possibly have the banjo appraised. There are some distinguishing features on this custom banjo which I think could easily prove it's Okie's work, I just need to know where to start......beyond that it's a really heavy 5 string!
Any info on the man and/or his work will help. Thanks for your time.
I'll post pictures if anyone thinks they can help.

I can't help you but you might want to try posting on banjohangout.org. There are thousands of banjo addicts there.

Bryan,
We are always happy to look at photos and extend the general knowledge of a future web. That said banjo hangout is probably a better bet.
