What tool can I make motor with worm drive...

Hi all....

I have an old garden shredder, it's the expensive type that has a helical cutter and turns really slow, the motor is 2 hp with a worm drive to the cutter the motor and drive are all in a self contained unit, the cutter has long since lost its edge and I don't need the shredder anymore.... So was basically thinking about what "new" tool I could make with it, I mainly build solid body guitars, any great ideas?

It would probably make a good radius dish sander but that is only applicable to acoustic guitars. What rpm are we talking about?

I just looked it up and it says 41rpm... I thought about a radius dish but I can't see I'd have much use for it...

You don't happen to need a 2 hp pickup winder do you <g>

hang on to it. Eventually you will find the perfect use for it. Or trade it to someone who does need to make a radius dish.

If you made a radius dish that had a carefully calculated spiral pitch, then you could play LP vinyl records.

I already have an old Garrard Zero-100 on the shelf, so I don't need to do this.
