case for benedetto style 17" arch top
Ive looked at some cases and the TKL 8820 for jumbo /archtop is priced right but wonder about long term quality and padding if the case is dropped , anyone have one for their 17" ?? what others should I look at Id like to spend about 200 bucks. Thanks

I've had a couple of TKL's as you describe for about 10 years now. No complaints.

I've got one for my 17" and I'm totally happy with it. In addition, I am personally convinced (although I can't prove this) that TKL probably built the case for my 17" Epiphone. It is also an excellent case. When I compare it side by side with my TKL, I don't see enough differences to even discuss here. My experience with TKL has been excellent.

TKL is the best for the money. Calton in Austin, TX and Presto in Australia are the best for longevity.

Thanks the TKL 8820 seems to be sized correctly and is a good starting place until a wall mount display is completed, best of all the customer said ok.

FYI I received the TKL jumbo 8820 case the other day, I think the total was 139.00 approx. the case is a good medium to good quality case. perfect for part time players, great to store a partially built guitar in to keep the dings down. the size is perfect for a 17" traditional arch-top ,with a little room to spare.
2 areas that it lacks are : the pillow built in the bottom of the case, at the neck joint area is way to thin for any support, and a foam pillow insert will have to be made, second the neck support block will probably need to be cut down to allow more room . by changing that angle it relieves the xtra pressure back on the bridge when the lid is latched. That block is not glued in, and removing screws allows modification possibilities, other than that its a very good value, strong and inexpensive.

FWIW, I always used the TKL 9116 and 9120 (16" & 17") with no problems & no modifications. Both cases are arched front & back.
