I got some very good info for solving my question, seems it will be helpful to many,so Ill post this answers for the forum.

Hello Im using the t2 controlwith a kent armstrong floating pickup (2 solder tabs) on my archtop build.Im using a multi(4)conductor cable with bare wire shield. When hooking the minus lead from the pickup to pot and on to jack ,is it correct that I twist the bare wire and black (minus) wire together? if this is not correct please explain.
Ive downloaded your basic wiring and thumb wheel diagrams, but bare shielded wire is not covered. thank you greg m

Hi Greg,
What you're doing should be fine. The only critical thing in basically all of wiring is that the bare shield is always the outer-most wrap in order to provide RF shielding and that it is connected to ground through the output.
In the diagrams I am using the bare shield as the ground wire; I realize that I didn't make that particularly clear.
Best regards,
Les

Hi Greg,
For the thumbwheels:
As per our instruction sheet, the ground for each thumbwheel is indicated as pin 1 (both pin 1's are connected by the circuit board itself).
If we were looking at the back of a regular pot and the pins were at 7,6, and 5 o'clock, then yes, tab 3 (at 5 o'clock) would be ground.
You are ok to join the bare and the pickup minus to the minus on the output jack.
Best regards,
Les
