Im using a production Kent armstrong floating pickup (single coil) ?
along with a shatten volume/tone thumb wheel control. I see no way to get a string ground unless I use a metal tail piece, id rather use ebony. What to do? All my electrics use string ground but archtops ? i dont know!! thanks

Lots of people use copper shielding tape on the underside of the tailpiece.

Yes. Use both simultaneously. I didn't do it a subtly as Greg McKnight. I fabricated a real brass tailpiece grounded to a tailpin jack and I covered mine with wood. Essentially the same end result.

I don't understand how this is ground. I can see that there is something happening at the very tail. A hole of some kind? But I'm not sure how this tape connects to a ground.Greg McKnight wrote:Lots of people use copper shielding tape on the underside of the tailpiece.
