Finish for "Natural Feel"?

As the title suggests, I would like to know what kind of finish gives the most natural feel on a neck?

I'm doing a repair on a friends bass guitar neck, which involves sanding the finish off. He likes a natural feel, so I'm thinking I might use Tung Oil, wiped on.

Am I wrong?

I posted this in the Glues and Finishes section also, so if the moderators want to get rid of one of them that is OK by me.

I have used thinned poly several times. Sanded and then rubbed in and finished with OOOO equiv. synthetic steel wool.
It looks like naked wood but won't pick up and hold dirt. 25% poly to thinner.

Thank you for your interest and all the information.

As I mentioned in the original post, I did post this in the "Glues and Finishes" section also.
Over there, David King suggested a finish I've never heard of before and after watching a couple of videos on youtube, I've decided to try it.

If you go to the other thread you can read all about it, and I've posted a link to the videos.
