Letain as well as parker guitars have developed what seems like a great new way to attach a tail piece without gut, cable or the dreaded hinge. Has anyone here researched this method? Im wondering what type of hardware is used. Looks fantastic.

A peg or pin is inserted through the top and into the tail block. The tail piece hooks over that peg. Imagine a key hole in the tail piece and a peg with a wider end that fits into the key hole. Very simple and elegant if well done.

a key hole that's great. I have a carbide keyhole bit from my cabinet shop days. So, the peg, is it set into the end block at the break angle or 90 degrees ? Any body have any more pictures??

You can configure it any way you like. The peg can be angled, or perpendicular and have a wider top like a common nail. It just needs to securely hold the tail piece from slipping off. You could use a 1/4 - 20 Allen head cap screw, or just use your imagination and you will come up with something.

Im testing now. Using a lespaul style tail piece stud and anchor, could be real clean. Ill try posting pics when it works.
