I'm not superstitious, but sometimes I wonder.
And sometimes a truly wonderful thing happens.
Just now, I was standing very still while busy pondering a problem about a musical instrument that I'm building, and then a hummingbird flew in the doorway, circled my head, and paused to admire my ears.
How could life better than that?
sometimes, I wonder

Got no answer for that one, Bob.
but I can tell you that I met your daughter last week at the Wheatland Festival, she came through the Luthiers' tent and we talked a bit, a very nice lady she is.

Hummingbird! Lucky guy - we don't get them here in the UK outside zoos - but I did see a group of Goldfinches today. They're beautiful birds and the collective noun is a 'Charm' of Goldfinches. I have to say, seeing them made my day.

I also get occasional visits from hummingbirds in my shop - when the big door is open.
There's no question that there is something flying when they come in - in an enclosed space they are LOUD!!

We have a grape arbor in the front, and right now they are dripping with their small, sweet, green "table" grapes. There are also two hummingbird feeders, and while we stand under the arbor making ourselves sick on grapes, the hummingbirds will come light on their feeders, not three feet away, and pay us no heed.
