MIMF

So, here's another fine mess I've gotten myself into. (Where are Laurel and Hardy when you need them?)

I decided to have a go at making a bow for a double bass. This one is the first I have made, so I used cheap materials, mostly, as I figured I might foul things up, and good bow wood is about $200 a stick. (No joke-- Pernambuco and Snakewood are realllly spendy stuff.)

Interesting. I've never made a bow, though I tried to hair several (not very successfully.) My niece, who is a concert violinist, told me her bow cost $8000. Blew me away.

I seriously doubt my bows will ever be worth anything, but I have seen new bows at $12K so I know they exist. (I didn't touch the thing...the owner was so smug about the price, I didn't want to handle it at all.)
