My old flat top

Post by mark forsell »

Back a while ago, I posted some info on my brothers Yamaha 12 string I inheritated. Scott mentioned what he thought I should do. Bridge plate replacement,( larger than original) and neck reset. So ive been thinking about this and I may have the time to do it now.
I've been looking at material for the bridge plate. I could use Indian Rosewood which is available to me. The piece is 31/2 inches by 8 inches. So it would be larger than the original foot print wise. Would this be a good wood to use?

A lot of guitars have Indian rosewood bridgeplates, but some people prefer maple.

Is the size I chose good enough?
