Video Download Software?

Can anybody recommend a good program to download videos from YouTube? For some time now I've used an open source program called Miro to download videos and save them to an Mpeg format. When I find a song I like, I download the video, use another program to save the audio portion to an MP3, and feed that into RiffStation to help figure out the chords. Miro worked fine under XP but doesn't seem to recognize flash videos when installed on Win7 64bit.

I use videoget. Works fine, it can save directly to MP3 the audio portion.

I use this Youtube to MP3 converter, it works much of the time. Some songs appear to be blocked.

I use that too, but long songs don't work either.

If you use Firefox, the Video Download Helper add-on works well.

I didn't see the freebie until too late but thanks anyway, Alain. I did try the Firefox Video Download Helper as well as a flash download add in with no joy. I got the same result when I tried what was a working install of Miro on my XP machine. YouTube periodically makes changes designed to stop video download and has apparently made a particularly successful one this time. It isn't my preferred solution since it's a digital to analog to digital conversion instead of digital to digital but since I really only want the audio, I used Audacity to record the audio playback via the sound card. Not ideal but at least it works.

Video Download Helper 4.9.22 was released today, and one of the major improvements was to deal with YouTube's latest design changes. You may want to update and try again.
