New Neck, Old Banjo

Here is my new neck on a 100 yr old Sears Pot.
The pot is 10" in diameter, so we went with a scale length of 23.8".

I'm not a banjo player, but the 5th string tunnel innovation seems like the biggest leap forward in banjo design in like a billion years. Nice work. I also enjoy cherry.

A 5th string tunnel was presented on this Forum back in 2006. Funny how it keeps getting reinvented!

Tunnelled 5th strings are by no means a new invention - they were popular on English-made banjos many decades ago. I think it was because guitar necks could be easily adapted to be banjo necks that way. They even kept the six-string peghead, but removed one of the pegs.
