Fall 2013 MIMF Newsletter

The place to chat with your fellow MIMForum members about whatever you want that doesn't relate to instruments, or isn't specific to one instrument family. Pull up a chair, grab a cold one out of the virtual 'fridge, and tell your friends what's on your mind.

Fall 2013 MIMF Newsletter
*******************************
Hello everyone! If you don't want to receive these occasional e-mails please see the removal instructions at the bottom of this e-mail.

These newsletters are also posted on the forum, so if you're reading it there and did not get the e-mail, check your spam filters.

A New Subforum for Reviews
**********************************
A number of members have suggested this, so we've added a "Product & Component Reviews" forum, check it out here: http://www.mimf.com/phpbb/viewforum.php?f=52
It's still developing, so feel free to PM me or one of the moderators with suggestions.

A December Give-away
***************************
Watch the Jam Session for the occasional give-away. For December, we'll pick two winners. It'll be your choice of any MIMF plan or anything from our CafePress shop (including worldwide shipping). Here's how it works:
- If you're interested, reply to the discussion
- I'll assign a number to everyone that responds (duplicate entries and bogus user names will be ignored)
- On or shortly after January 1st, we'll use an on-line random number generator to pick the winners
- Legitimately registered members only

Winter Auction?
*******************
If I get enough donations, we'll have a mid-winter auction. So if you have anything you'd like to donate (new or used (but serviceable)), please drop me a PM. Thanks!

MIMF Archtop Project
**************************
Michael Lewis is still looking for a little help on the MIMF archtop project, check out the discussion here: viewtopic.php?f=5&t=540

Like the MIMF on Facebook!
*********************************
We're sociable! Like us here: https://www.facebook.com/MIMForum
Please don't post instrument questions on Facebook, we'll mainly use it for announcements and other news about the forum (e.g. server outages, etc.). Wait, there's more! We've resurrected our YouTube channel (thanks Clint Searcy) and we're looking for content. Let us know if you have something (must be non-commercial and not show unsafe tool usage). If we accept your video, in appreciation I'll give you an MIMF plan of your choice or an item from our CafePress store.

MIMF stuff
*************
As always, MIMF plans are available (we've recently added a tenor plan based on a Martin O18T). And we've got a CafePress store now open, featuring the original MIMF artwork (thanks to Dan Sharp) on t-shirts, sweatshirts, coffee mugs and steins. The forum gets 20% of the sales price. For info, photos and the shop link, see here: http://www.mimf.com/phpbb/viewtopic.php?f=15&t=2333

Tutorials, etc.
*****************
Got an idea for (or needing) a tutorial? Contact us and we'll see what we can do.

Affiliates
************
Please help support the MIMF by purchasing through (clicking on) our links to Amazon, Rockler and Woodcraft (see the home page footer). Thanks! And thanks to all of you who do this and also those who make direct contributions.

Staff
*******
As always, my thanks and appreciation to the excellent MIMF volunteer staff: Mark Swanson, Barry Daniels, Greg Robinson and Jim McConkey.

Thanks for your support and participation!
