I've just added one of the FreeWay 6 way switches from StewMac into a guitar I built*. I have to say I am impressed with the sounds I am able to get from it. I was expecting more subtle differences in positions 4-6, but the results were more pronounced than I thought.

The recording was done with the inbuilt mics on a Zoom multitrack recorder, guitar plugged into a Roland Cube with a bit of chorus and delay. Pickups are (nridge) Suhr SSH+, (neck) Suhr DSV

Bridge only
Bridge and Neck
Neck Only
Neck HB with 1 coil from the bridge
1 coil from each pickup
Bridge HB with 1 coil from the neck.

There are quite a few different options in the wiring diagrams supplied by the manufacturer, but I'm glad I chose this one.

I am very impressed with the range of tones available. I know I'm using some of the nicest pickups I could find, which isn't hurting the sound one little bit, but the variation between positions is more than I had expected.
