I think it's safe to assume that the vast majority of, if not all, mimfers are music lovers: What music is flaoting your boat at the moment?
I my case, it's this band:

Jazz, NPR, Techno, and Soul--sometimes at the same time.
Just finished reading Keith Richard's autobiography--not recommended for before bed reading!

I have joined Soundcloud recently as a place to put up some of my own songs, and when I did that I found I could listen to a stream of material put up there by many others. Some of it's good, some of it isn't, but all of it is compelling in a way. It's kind of cool to get to listen to stuff that is not put out by the huge music business machine.

A recent conversation with one of my sons has Warren Zevon's "Sleep When I'm Dead" playing in an endless loop in my head. As fond as I am of dear Mr Zevon, I'd prefer to swap him out for a bit of John Hiatt at this point. Adam - have you seen Joe Bonamassa's video that's been kicking around on cable lately? John Hiatt joins him for a wonderfully grumpy version of "Down Around My Place".

Jon Gomm, Andy McKee, Preston Reed and Newton Faulkner at the moment - along with some Beautiful South/Housemartins and The English Beat (as you guys would know them - over here they're just The Beat).

I was "rudeboy" when i was a kid in 70's and I loved The Beat. I remember saving up and going out and buying the "single" of "Mirror in the Bathroom". It was the first record I ever bought. My musical tastes are much more ecclectic now but I still love ska and still listen to Madness and The Specials on regular basis.

"Mirror in the Bathroom" <<<shudder>>> Oh god please don't bring me back to bad high school parties. It's not the music, just the association with the past.
As for me, right now I'm deep into Moody Blues & Procol Harum.
This week's obsession...
Last month it was Kansas and various other similar Prog-Rock stuff
By the way, you can listen to whatever you want at

Gee Chuck, isn't that before your time? (g)
Gabbi Pahinui, Keith Jarrett (the Koln Concert), and Lyle Lovett seem to be doing it for me lately.

Oh yeah for the Moodies and Pocul Harum! I need me a little Salty Dog tonight. Chuck, if you are into that then you must check out The Strawbs too. Start with Hero and Heroine. And some great acoustic british folk/rock can be found from Fairport Convention.
