As you see there is no tailpiece, but a bridge like a Tune O Matic .
It's a true hollow body archtop, without any central block, so the bridge is suspended on the top, reinforced by two braces with inserts of carbon fiber

That's outa sight! Very cool choice of burl/spalt in the fingerrest and head face to play off the burst.

So, is it actually a carved back and front? The arch looks very low/wide. I like the violin-like overhang of the plates.

Yes, top and back are carved as usual; the arc is much more pronounced than it appears in pics

I hope this is enough explanatory.
The linings are built with 3 sheet of maple and two of ebony, and there is another strip of rosewood on the side soundport.

I love it (the guitar and the grandfather part) The artistic touches are just wonderful. I am very interested in knowing how the bridge/tailpiece will hold up over time.

I have built one small bodied (15") archtop with overhanging tops. I love the violin-esque look of the overhanging plates though as you know it is harder to deal with when it comes to finishing but it is oh so nice and distinctive.
