Mark, I think you and Bryan should come on down. On the down side I think it will be awfully hot by then, but it would be great to have you both here. G.S. I sent you a pm.

Well it is probably about a 12 hour drive from here and much longer for Mark. Unless he picks me up on his way from Michigan. . .

I'll be there. Billy Garrison won't be with me this trip. He's in Hong Kong.

I'm going to bring some recovered Gulf Cypress soundboard samples as well as a few instruments.
Looking forward to getting some "professional" opinions of this wood.

Our Fla. Luthiers group meeting yesterday was awesome !
I got to play quite a few very nice hand built guitars from Keith Mackenzie(L-00 BRW),John Killin(L-00),Michael Schriener (Harp guitars, om,and a great uke),Jim Mitchell(cigar box guitars),Jim Bonnell(tenor guitar),Mark Routen(grand concert),G.S.Monroe(1 string),and others I can't recall right now.
We had a big turnout-about 15 showed up.We all had a good time pickin' and talking shop.I learned a few new things on guitar from Jim Womack,Keith and Mark. Thanks guys. And I got to see Chris Paulicks hand carved headstock up close! Keith brought some very cool luthier tools
from England that most of us hadn't seen before. Here's that web site-

Thanks to all who made it(some drove 4 and 5 hours from Miami and Northern Fla.) We will have another get together in a couple months. Dave

Dave, I really had a great time, and even better I learned a lot. The instruments that were being shown were so nice that I considered taking mine back to the truck and hiding them under a tarp. The tour of the workshop, the tool demonstration, and the information on the router pantograph for doing inlays were very helpful.
And I am thrilled that you mentioned my humble 1 string "Magic Twanger".
It is basically an electric can-jo...
