Rainsong sent a set of precut frets to me at no charge with the following suggestions:
If you are going to remove all the frets, do not level the fingerboard before installing the new frets. It is cast with preset relief. The frets are superglued in place. Use a soldering iron to loosen the glue. OK, I have dealt with Aliphitics and hide glues in fret jobs, but never superglue. How hot does this stuff have to get before it changes phase? I know epoxies can stand a significant amount of heat (ie exhaust patch) however, cyanoacrylate? How big an iron do I need? KWILLITS

Use a pistol-grip type iron, and cut the tip off the end so that you have two un-connected points sticking out of the iron. When you place them both on the fret it will close the circuit so that it'll then heat the fret, along its whole length at one time. It helps to file little grooves in the end of each one of the tips.
When the fret (the glue really) is smoking, it's ready, but don't breathe in the nasty smoke! Use good ventilation.
