This may be in the archive, but I am currently browsing on my 'phone.
Is it okay to wire in a suitable voltage battery supply at the amp's rectifier output for street performance use ? The diodes in the circuit should protect the other electronics/electrics before the rectifier. I think ! Anyone had a go ?

Yes, for solid state amps with single (one battery needed) or dual (two batteries needed) rail linear power supplies, this will be fine. If there are multiple rails it may get impractical (there are often two bipolar rails in solid state amps, one for preamp, one for poweramp). Make sure it's after the rectifier, otherwise you'll have standing dc on the power transformer secondary, I've seen people damage their amps by making that simple mistake.
If your amp has a switch mode power supply, it may get more complicated, but may still be possible, although it would have to be evaluated on a case-by-case basis.
