Hello folks!

I get the feeling this is a question that surfaces from time to time and if so, here it is again. Is there a plan available for an Earthwood bass or maybe a close approximation? I've been interested in making a similar instrument for some time and thought I might come across a used example to work from but to no avail. Any input is appreciated. Thanks!

You might check with Paul Burnside to see what plan he is using. He posted this a few months ago. Let us know if you find plans.

The GAL has a plan or two available, and there is an article about building a real nice one designed by Harry Fleishman in a back issue, also in one of their Big Red Books.

I hope Paul updates his post.

No plans, but here are links to pictures I've found on the Ernie Ball forum. Some show bracing and neck attachment. Dimensions I've read are 24 1/2" length, 18 1/4" lower bout, and several version thicknesses either 6 5/8" or 8". The original plans are not published (proprietary).

Thanks Peter, that's very helpful. I had seen the bracing once before, many years ago on a repair job, but I didn't have the forethought to make a drawing. Seeing those pictures is exactly what I needed.
