James Taylor is nowadays schmaltzy in terms of pop music, but I'd say that he's done very well for himself over the years. You don't hear crass advert-jingles of his music, nor many tribute 'covers' of his music. I'd say that he has a good grasp on his artistic/intellectual property.
Anyway, I watched his vid for 'the average guy', about tuning an acoustic guitar for playing. I've also watched some others of his lessons. What do you think?

Hmmm... I was unaware that he had lessons out there. Maybe check it out. I went to one JT concert in the late 80's. I was kind of bummed that my seats were against the back wall of the Universal Studios Ampitheater, but as the show went on, I realized he was an incredibly boring performer, visually. He would play a bit to the audience, then turn and face the band and play to them. Most movement was just rocking back and forth. The other guitarist was much more entertaining on stage.
Now, soundwise, it was like listening to a 'live' concert album. Voice was spot on, sound was almost perfectly balanced for where I was sitting. I just closed my eyes and enjoyed the music....
