What a beautiful guitar and what an orginal approach to the body!
How does it sound?
What would you be willing to share about how you carved/shaped the body?
Thanks,
Claude

Thanks Claude. The body is made from a 40" or so long set of bookmatched 4/4 lumber. I cut the set in half and stack them up to get about a 1-7/8" thick body. I put together a slideshow in my photobucket account with all the in-progress shots I took. About halfway through you'll see how the body and binding all goes together:

The sound is great. I really like the Golden Age humbuckers from StewMac and the overall playability of the guitar is great as far as I'm concerned. I'll post a youtube or something of this guitar in action when I get some time. I'm not very good at describing tones, etc.
Thanks again for the kind words.

Oh, thanks Steve. Can you remind me again of the picture size limits? I'll need to resize/compress and post some.

Hi Chad-
Picture limit is 150k per photo. There are no x-y pixel limits like in the old forum software. There is a limit of 5 attachments per post (though it does not seem to stop you from adding more than 5).

I'll post a few pictures so that this thread can be archived. MIMF staff, can one of you delete my first batch of posts linking to the photobucket account, as well as the post with the link to the 8-photo slideshow of the finished guitar? I don't want to be redundant.

Here's a collection of photos demonstrating the chambering process and overall construction concept:

And here's a few to demonstrate the "equator" inlay, which is 0.25" figured maple binding:
