What strings for my uke?
What strings for my uke?
I just finished a Baritone uke for my wife. Her fingers are suffering. So I'd like to know if there are any "soft" strings out there. I used D'Addario since the name is familiar to me. The 3rd and 4th strings are silverplated wire and not much of a problem for me (I play guitar), however, my wife is having problems with her fingers going numb. Thanks.

Re: What strings for my uke?
Hi Ron,
Rather than change the strings you could tune them down half a step to lower the tension, then capo the first fret to bring the pitch back up to standard. When your wife's fingers toughen up you could raise the pitch and remove the capo.

Aquila's bionylons are a softer string, other than that try Aquila nylguts or Worth browns.
