Just to completely derail this topic -I received my pair of binocular magnifiers today and they are pretty cool but a bit heavy. They're the ultra low-budget version of what your dentist might wear. Magnification is 3.5 and the focal length is about 16". These should allow me to see what's happening at the endmill in my milling machine without putting my head in the way of the moving parts and flying chips. They mount onto the front of safety glasses and come with an LED light and rechargeable battery pack. They are heavy due to the thick pairs of glass lenses but I'm hoping I can rework the bridge a bit to soften the wear and tear on my nose. A full headband might be even better
