Nearly identical guitars.
Same nut, strings, bridge, tuners, pickups. No finish. No pots. Same amp at same settings. etc., etc.
And, most importantly, he's not trying to argue that every piece of mahogany or every piece of maple will sound just like his. It was really just a driven curiosity to see how much the wood does affect the tone in a solid-body electric guitar. The difference is not massive, but it is obvious and apparent. (He's also made a really long video where you can SEE him swap the parts, apparently because some nitwits accused him of faking the test!)
