Since my two Reyes-style guitars, I've built one more blanca, using the Barbero plan published by GAL. That one was a very conventional material choice - euro spruce and med. cypress, cedro neck. Nice guitar, actually a little fuller sounding than the first two - good volume in the trebles but not as quick an attack as the first two, so I'm not sure I got the top right.
I think I would probably move to a Santos Hernandez plan for the next one, just because. GAL also recently published a plan - I'm not sure how it compares to the one in the Courtnall book, I haven't had a chance or cause to check yet.
