All the straight lines were touched up with it and the far right set was cut with it. The longer one is more of a liner which purpose it to cut straight lines. By tilting it to one side you can get an angle cut to that side and a straight wall cut to the other. If you look closely you can see the angle cut on the thumbnail pattern. You can achieve the same effect with a 60 degree V tool or two cuts with a knife. But the liner makes it nice and straight and easy work of it. It sort of files it and you really don't have to worry about grain direction.

I have a SMC 400XS. I also have a GraverMax with some wood carving chisels but haven't used them yet. I think I might be able to adapt other chisels to the hand piece if I can file the tangs down to fit. But that's down the road sometime...
