Bracing a MandoCello

If it's not a guitar or a bass guitar discussion, and it's got strings, put it here.

So, what gauges did you select?

I'm going to try Stainless Steel Round Wound 68, 46, 30, 18 and see how that goes..

Done... Sounds good but I'm a bit biased.. I play (poorly) a tenor guitar and find this one a bit more of a challenge to play..

Sitka top, Oregon Myrtle Back & sides, Espave Neck, IRW fingerboard & trim... A light French Polish finish with zpoxy pore fill...

Multi-scale, 24.75" -26.25"

It was a fun challenge as it was my first multi-scale and first arm bevel, I did a simple binding scheme to make the arm bevel easier..

That turned out nice!

I'm also using fanned frets on my guitars and found that the strings needed less compensation at the bridge, did you noticed something different?

Hans -- I'm not sure I have enough experience to make a determination about the compensation, I will say I had thought it would need more compensation that it actually did.. Was that because it was a fanned fret??? Not sure...
