Sadly, I don't have a day job anymore so here is a shot of the headstock of my first home-made ukulele, the reason I joined MIMF. It was inspired by the beautiful view over the harbour of a town in New Zealand called Tairua.

Thanks to all you other members who, unknowingly, helped get my first effort off the workbench and into a playable state. It doesn't sound too bad, but it's heavier than it should be and the next one will be better!

Ian, thanks for posting this. I really like the design. I'd love to see a close-up shot with the tuners installed. Looks like a pretty nice uke. Wish my first effort looked that good! :-)

This is the headstock of an Armadillo 'ukulele (that was a mandolin until not too long ago). I'm just finishing up the conversion now. Will post pictures of complete instrument in about a week.
