Hi, I have a pair of MMK 53 p/u that have a slug coil and a slotted adjustable pole piece coil, the p/u have gold plated covers. I have not tried them but I'm considering putting them in a '70s Les Paul. Does anyone here know how these would compare to the stock p/u of a Les Paul standard?
Thanks
James

No idea James, but if you want a quick and dirty way to try it out, connect the pickup up to a jack, and hold it above the strings of your LP while strumming. You can make a jig to hold it in place if you want, but I've always found the rough and ready approach to give me a good enough idea.

Thanks Greg , I don't want to take the p/u s out just to have to put them back in , I'll try that.Greg Robinson wrote:No idea James, but if you want a quick and dirty way to try it out, connect the pickup up to a jack, and hold it above the strings of your LP while strumming.
