Hey guys
It is time to finish a mandolin I have been working on and I have a question. I am using a thing oil finish for the first time and have read that I need to cut the oil 50/50 with solvent or it will take forever to dry between coats. This is a walnut mandolin and I do not plan to seal the pores - looking for a matte finish
Can I use naphtha as a solvent? I read that mineral spirits are the usual choice but I cannot but them here - I live in china and have no idea what they are called in Chinese as it does not translate tho. However, I have a can of zippo naphtha on hand.
Thx for suggestions
Brad

Naptha will probably be fine.
