latest from my bench
I really wish there were more "bowed" instrument post on this site. Here is one that will soon go to it's new home.

Re: latest from my bench
Thanks for the kind words.
It is my standard 5 string design. Based on the "Cannone" and expanded from 14" to about 14.5". Everything has to be scaled up proportionally. Standard scale and stop lengths. 25mm wide at the nut, 5mm between strings and a standard DeSpiau 3 tree violin bridge. 10mm between 1st four strings and 11 mm between G-C. Red Spruce top and Black Walnut neck, back and sides.

Just gorgeous Barry. I'd kill for an archtop chunk like that.

Barry, just googled your name and Google says that your website is malicious - you might have been hacked.

Re: latest from my bench
I know...my web hosting company is working on it. Google is the only search engine that does it. you can go to dudleyviolins.com and it works???? There is no malware there. It has something to do with with some of the code that the web builder used when they built the site.
Thanks for the heads up though.

Looks great. I always appreciate your work.
I'm working hard on contributing to this section! I am part way through building a viola da gamba and it feels like its taking me forever. Are we still only doing completed instrument threads? Because I do have process photos which could add to the bowed instrument section.

I may be crazy...but I'm not insane.

Thanks Douglas!
That's a good question...I would like to see your process shots.

Hey, Barry,
You know I've liked every one of yours that I've seen, but I think this is my favorite thus far. Beautiful choices!

I appreciate the positive responses. There are no good reason not to use some of the other fine tone woods we have to choose from today...other than tradition. Progress is seldom made by following tradition.

Yes, Barry, nicely done. How was the back to carve?
