Starcaster Strat pickup issue

Post by Devon Press »

Hi, was hoping someone could have a look at these pics and advise me on how to fix this bridge. It's coming up from the body and I have no clue how to get it back down (I just received this guitar from a friend). Thanks in advance!

Tighten the screws on the spring claw. You will need to remove the plastic cover on the back of the guitar to access it.

It looks like your springs are tightened to the max - you need to add 2 more springs or get stronger springs.

Maybe I can't fix it, but I can fix it so no one can fix it

There are six screws located at the front of the bridge. They are NOT meant to be screwed down tight. Loosen each of them so the heads are about 4 to 16ths of an inch clear of the body. The bridge is meant to pivot on those screws when you depress the vibrato bar. Please see the video: https://youtu.be/hM9LsMFnXWc?t=81
