Jangly B string
I finished a J45 ish guitar a while ago. It’s pretty ok but when I pick the open B there is a very short jangle (jingle?) right at the pick attack. It’s driving me crazy. I have examined and filed the nut very carefully and can’t seem to figure it out. The string is not vibrating on the first fret. The break angle at the nut is ok as far as I can tell. Is it possible that there is too much angle? I’m stumped. Fretted notes on the string don’t have the noise but I did check the saddle anyway. It seems good. Thoughts?

Frustrating.
Probably no help but:
Put a small piece of thin paper on the nut slot and press the string into it - see if it persists.
Loose truss rod?
Bad string? - try another.
Dampen the string (with finger) from nut to tuner.

Maybe I can't fix it, but I can fix it so no one can fix it

You might totally loosen the string and make sure there isn’t a kink or bend in it. I chased a buzz for a long time until I loosened the string and saw the bend. A new string fixed it.
