Newbie build
New to the forum and new to guitar building. Just finished my first guitar. Not sure if there will be others. I had 'build a guitar' on my bucket list for a long time and I thoroughly enjoyed the process. My next task is to learn how to play it, lol.
Anyway, it is an approximation of a Gibson CS-356. It was built from maple and reclaimed mahogany (with a rosewood fretboard). There are plenty of flaws, as you might expect from a 1st timer, but none of them appear to be fatal
Thanks for looking.

Re: Newbie build
That looks fantastic. My first guitar was also an archtop, and I made two at the same time. I found that doing a step on one would help me do the second one better, so I switched around which one I did first. It was very satisfying, as I am sure it was for you, and the results are stunning. Great job!

Thanks, guys. Yes, the build was very enjoyable. I'm finding learning to play much more frustrating, tbh

I'm really impressed, Jeff - I think most of us try something much less challenging for our first build (at least I did!!)
Very nice job!

Thanks to all who commented. Yes, Brian, you were right, there was a next one. I'm not great at documenting things, so I finished it without posting any progress pics. I will open a separate thread to post some pics of the final product later today

That looks great! Is it a craved top and back? Very ambitious for a first one and I bet it wont be your last! Once you have bitten the building bug its worse than crystal meth!!
