It's Been a While
Hey guys. I was fairly active on the forum for quite a while but ran into some hard times.
My beautiful wife of over 41 years, passed away in September from cancer.
I can tell you that this is something I would not wish on my worst enemy.
I have only got into my shop this last few weeks to do a bit of work.

I need your help. I can't possibly make all the mistakes myself!

Gordon,
I am all too familiar with the ravages of cancer on all who are involved in the journey. Please accept my deepest condolences for your loss.
I'm pleased to see you stepping into the shop again. It can be really difficult to resume something of a normal life. Not only are you dealing with your grief and the absence of your partner, I imagine that a big part of your daily schedule and the people you regularly interacted with (during treatments and visits) has changed drastically. It can be hard to know where to start picking up. Allow yourself to engage in things you like, like working in the shop at your own pace and don't rush yourself. But, also allow yourself to find enjoyment in these things.

I feel for you Gordon. As time passes in life there are devastating episodes interspersed with more joyous ones. Hopefully there will be some of the latter in your life in the not too distant future. Keep pushing on.
Maybe I can't fix it, but I can fix it so no one can fix it

Re: It's Been a While
Thanks for your considerations. My wife was my biggest supporter and best friend. I loved her with my whole heart.
Yes, it is a rough patch for sure. The hardest thing is finding new direction.
I am glad to be back in shop though, and I have 3 new guitars and a bass on the go.
I have also started doing some small repairs again. I may put a stop to those for a while, I don't like to have a schedule.

Really sorry for you both to have gone through what you have.
As you can see, we are all glad to have you back on the forum. You've been missed, and have a lot to contribute.
