Hello All,

Here is my spin on a jig to help flip the body when you are gluing and clamping. I've found that gluing the top or back on is not difficult on its own however, for me, flipping the whole assembly over to inspect or clean out squeezed glue was an awkward pain not to mention heavy. So, using a couple of computer monitor stands, some small swivel plates from Amazon, a few bolts and some MDF, I can now glue a top or back on and then rotate the body wherever I need it with ease.

It puts the body assembly a foot and a half above the work surface but I'm pretty tall so no issue. It could also be mounted lower. You just need to have clearance for the clamps as they rotate by. Spool clamps would be even better for this.

I've always thought it's about working smarter not harder, right?

Way cool! I love it when an idea like that pops in your head and it ends up working. Yea, the assembly is heavy and more than once, I've dented a top or side by being clumsy only to need to perform repair on an instrument that isn't yet finished. Lot of bench space for clamps and clean up materials at the ready

Clamp up the body nicely and then install a chicken over a space heater.
