Thanks,
I'm in central Texas.
We are under flood conditions now.
My family at the coast still has a house to return to.
My daughter is stuck on a cruise ship.
At least she got a free day in New Orleans. Waiting for Galeston port to open.

Clay, so far, so good. We are getting rain varying from light to moderate. No deluge yet, but they forecast another 3 days. People in Houston are not so lucky as there are lots of flooded homes.

We have had a total of 16" of rain here but I am on a high spot and water drains away adequately. They are evacuating some neighborhoods a mile or so away. This is shaping up to be the worst flood in Houston's history. And they are forecasting the final rain totals will be double what we have already had.

Hi Barry,
Glad to hear you are still O.K. The flooding in Houston Looks pretty catastrophic! I hope the rainfall predictions don't materialize.

David Newton is in Beaumont. Hopefully he is spared the flooding over there.

Unfortunately, Beaumont is getting some of the heaviest rain today.

We had a break in the rain starting last night through this morning. Now it is raining again, but it is light enough that it is running off and not accumulating. I feel we are very lucky here. Other areas have been devastated though.

Has anyone talked to Allparts today? If they got or get drenched that could have serious knock-on effects across the music industry.

They are saying that we got 26" of rain. But we had no problems and the sun is out today. We have heard that there will be shortages of food and fuel for weeks. The airports are still closed. A little bit like living in a war zone. But still feel very fortunate.

All Parts website says they are closed but will open later this week.

Thanks Barry and also happy to hear that so far so good for you and yours.
I find it hard to judge what's happening on the ground from what I can see and read in the papers.

Large areas of Houston are flooded. And Beaumont and Port Arthur are in really bad shape. There will be a long period of recovery for these areas. Some of the neighborhoods in Houston will have high water for days. They are not allowing people to re-enter the areas due to continuing hazards. I may be re-entering the workplace as an environmental engineer to join the recovery efforts.

Barry, that's certainly understandable considering the stories of toxic sludge and contaminated wells.

Floods have a way of taking all the bad stuff and spreading it around; technically speaking.
