Hello,
I'm hoping someone can help me identify the guitar form I recently purchased at an estate auction in Illinois. It is a very heavy iron form and appear very old. I've attempted to include two pictures.
Thanks!
Dave

The hump at the neck end of the side bender makes me think of Bohmann. I just googled him and while I associate him with those lumpy guitars he made some more conventional instruments as well.
His label indicates State Street, Chicago

I think there was a post asking about these, several years ago. Maybe you could do a MIMF library search to find information. Maybe they were for use with a steam bending. Do the profiles match any known manufacturer's new or vintage guitars?

That looks like the frets.com link in Brian's post

Hi guys,
Thanks for the information! I think it must be the Bohmann harp guitar in the first link Brian shared, since the one in the frets link has a extra piece where it meets the neck. I think if I could find the dimensions of it I can consider the case closed.
By the way, is there a market for this type of form? I'm planning to sell it but not sure if I should piece it out as art, or if there might be someone out there actually interested in attempting to reproduce it.
Thanks and Merry Christmas to you all!

Axe In Hand(Dekalb Illinois) used to have a whole wall of Bohmann instruments. I have an old Hopf fiddle with a Bohmann label inside, he had done a lot of work on it.

Thanks Greg. I checked out their website. Looks like a cool place. I'll try reaching to them.
