I was about to post the same thing. It's true for me too.

I've seen comments to that effect from several users in the last couple of days.

I didn't realize we were that close- I just upped the attachment quota so you should be good to go now.

Charlie, is this an issue going forward that we need to address for the future? Are we running out of space or funds? I'd hate to see this place suffer when we could just come together and solve an issue. . .

does this apply to linked images, or only to images that are directly uploaded to the website?

Eric,
It applies to uploaded images only (I upped the quota from 1 GB to 2 GB). But I should also say that we really prefer uploaded images because linked images inevitably disappear over time (for one reason or another).
Bryan,
It's not a pressing issue but as we grow, more space (and backup of that space) does cost more. You may have noticed that we have lost a couple sponsors (one retired, another could not justify it on click-throughs), but from StewMac and the occasional subscriptions/donations, we still get enough to cover costs plus some. No worries.

Thanks, Charlie. I guess it's time to hit that donate button at the bottom of the page.

Yep. I'm terrible about remembering to up my "subscription." I couldn't remember when I did it last so it was probably time. . . I just did it, hopefully others will too.Peter Wilcox wrote:Thanks, Charlie. I guess it's time to hit that donate button at the bottom of the page.

What's the usual amount and frequency?Bryan Bear wrote:Yep. I'm terrible about remembering to up my "subscription." I couldn't remember when I did it last so it was probably time. . . Eric, I think the usual suggested amount back in the old days was $40/yr, but I'd think $25 to $50/yr would be a reasonable amount, or 10% of your yearly lutherie income, whichever is greater.

There's a negative donate option?Peter Wilcox wrote:Eric, I think the usual suggested amount back in the old days was $40/yr, but I'd think $25 to $50/yr would be a reasonable amount, or 10% of your yearly lutherie income, whichever is greater.

Lutherie income is a real thing? I had no idea. You all sound like the musicians I hang out with. It's a good thing music and building have other rewards, eh?Peter Wilcox wrote:Eric, I think the usual suggested amount back in the old days was $40/yr, but I'd think $25 to $50/yr would be a reasonable amount, or 10% of your yearly lutherie income, whichever is greater.
I will donate as soon as I check with the other member of the board of directors. I'm not the primary keeper-of-the-books and it's back to school time for me and my kids.
Thanks,

At least you are on the board of directors. I'm more of a silent partner. Well, just silent. Before direct deposit I had to slide my paycheck under the door at home before I could come in on Friday evenings. . .
