Paul's third archtop
Full hollow 14" archtop.
Engelmann spruce top, Spanish cedar back and sides, maple and African blackwood neck, bloodwood fingerboard, custom wooden pickup rings, knobs, bridge, and lots of binding.
Pickups are a '59 in the neck with series/parallel switch, Twangbucker in the bridge, and a K&K twinspot under the bridge.
25.5" scale, 1-11/16" nut, jumbo stainless frets, and Hipshot tuners.
I'm hoping for some audio samples soon.

What's going on there with the vacuum laminating? Is that a vacuum table? How are those bags secured?

It's a vacuum press. The whole thing lifts open.

Paul--nice looking guitar! If you don't mind I have some controls questions as I'm currently building a hybrid electric/acoustic flat-top and am getting near the point that I need to make some final decisions. What are the functions of the knobs? Are those actually for concentric pots? Do you have an on-board preamp for the K&K? Is there stereo output for acoustic vs. electric source? If you have passive controls on the K&K do you mind sharing what the circuit is? Thanks.

That looks wonderful Paul!
I used a 59 neck pup on my last solid body, it sound's really great with a sound unlike any other hum-buckers I have used.
Did you do any tuning or calculations for the F-hole size and placement?
Looking forward to sound clips, please do a clip un-amplified.

The controls in this one are master volume, pickup selector switch, neck tone with push/pull series/parallel switch, and bridge tone. All pots are 500k audio taper, both tone caps are .022mf, and there is a 100k/.002mf parallel treble bleed circuit. The k&k is wired direct to the ring on a stereo jack for external processing or blending only. There is a mini xlr connector with a 500k resistor across the hot and ground on the bridge pickup so that a humbecker could easily be switched.
The sound holes were only calculated by tap tone. Since this guitar is mainly meant to be amplified, keeping them small and the frequency low makes it easy to eq out feedback. The top and back are slightly thicker than with a purely acoustic instrument, which gave us a good balance of acoustic output and feedback resistance at moderate volume.

Ive always loved concentric knobs,never seen 2 tone,what brand are those ?

I made the knobs, and they're not concentric. They are smaller than they look, at under 0.75" at the widest point.
